SingleTree Annual Meeting in Bern: Connecting Digital Solutions with Forest Management

From 22 to 24 September 2026, the SingleTree consortium gathered in Bern, Switzerland, for its Annual Meeting, hosted by project partner State Forest Enterprise Bern. The three-day meeting combined technical discussions, collaborative sessions and a field day focused on forest management in the Swiss context.

Partners reviewed progress across all work packages (WPs) and discussed the next steps for the project. Particular attention was given to how digital tools and data developed across different WPs can connect and contribute to the wider forest value chain. Breakout sessions also provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between technical teams.

The consortium discussed progress and next steps across its three Living Lab Value Chains and addressed topics including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the environmental passport.

Connecting project developments with forest practice

The field day offered participants the opportunity to explore forest operations, single-tree selection, forest management and natural hazards in the Swiss context.

Moving beyond presentations, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to observe forest management practices first-hand and discuss the challenges forest managers face.

The Annual Meeting brought the consortium together to review progress, exchange knowledge and look ahead to the next steps in the SingleTree project.
